RAM vs ROM
Here you will learn all about RAM and ROM. What are RAM and ROM? How both are different from each other? And Let us discuss some main differences between them. And our video is given below you can watch it for more information.
Read-only memory, or ROM, is a data storage in computers which cannot be easily altered. ROM is referred to non-volatile memory and data is retained when the power is turned off.
Random-access memory, or RAM, is a data storage that can be accessed randomly at any time. RAM speed is measured in nanoseconds and is measured in megabytes and RAM chips can read data faster than ROM.
Compare RAM & ROM
|1||Stand for Random Access Memory||Stand for Read only Memory|
|2||Is a volatile memory||Is referred to as non-volatile|
|3||Data is lost when the power is turned off||contents are retained even after the power is switched off|
|4||stores the program required to initially boot the computer||It only allows reading.|
|5||Two main types : Static RAM Dynamic RAM.||Types of ROM PROM ,EPROM, EEPROM|
